As a proud descendant of Prussians whose grandfather fought against the Russians in WWI and then the Bolsheviks in 1918-1920 I am happy to see that the pacifist poison is making way for realism.



The Ukraine is fighting and Russian invasion plans are being derailed. Sanctions are going to bite deeply into Russian economy.

Fuel and logistics problems for the Russian invaders.

The  Russians are facing the same problems the Wehrmacht faced in December 1944 when they launched Wacht am Rhein; limited time to attain its objectives , logistical problems( in Germany's case lack of fuel, little air support, reliance on horses, Allies total air supremacy). Putin was counting a quick Blitzkrieg, destroy the Ukrainian army, decapitate its government and occupy its two major cities ; Kharkiv and Lviv in 3 to 4 days maximum. That way he would limit casualties, and not give the Ukrainians the time to defend themselves and they would be forced to negotiate terms in Russia's favour giving up territory, disarming, renouncing NATO membership and accept some Russian troops stationed on their territory as peacekeepers. Like Germany in December 1944 Putin is finding the hard way that time is his enemy and the longer the conflict the more likely human and economic losses will mount.

According to the New York Times a poll taken in Russia in December 2021 showed that only 9% of Russians were in favour of an attack on the Ukraine. This is the reason Facebook and the internet are being heavily censored in Russia and why all demonstrations are being quashed mercilessly. Putin cannot count on his own people's support.

Putin will never be able to occupy a country as large as Ukraine with 200,000 troops, especially one with a robust resistance movement.

Aahahaha that's a good one Iced_earth77! Who can you trust nowadays? You invade a country and they steal your tank! Another Russian who will have to walk back to Russia! May be he cna ask for a ride? I am sure lots of Ukrainians would offer to take him back to his country for free!

Iced_earth77 there's nothing wrong with the Russian language or even the Russian people .Not everybody is evil or bad. Many Russians are ashamed of their country and their government and don't want anything to do with Putin and his aggression. There are many anti war protests going on right now and over 7000 people have been arrested i n Russia that we know of. Every day that passes the Russians are going to realise what is being done in their name. Putin's days may be numbered. The Ukraine and \Russia are neighbours and will have to live together. It's geography and a reality. Let's hope for a quick Ukrainian victory !

Translation: The Ukrainian defence minister, Oleksii Resnikov, is offering Russians soldiers who voluntarily lay down their weapons and surrender not only amnesty but also a monetary reward.  He declared on social media that they should give up their arms freely. Each of you who does not want to become a murderer or die can save himself.
