I found an interesting short article about that battle, one of the shortest but bloodiest of the war in Europe. The part about the Germans shooting their own seriously wounded comrades they couldn't transport to a hospital rather than having them fall into Soviet hands is rather chilling...

I read in a British newspaper that archeologists are still excavating mass graves containing hundreds of dead soldiers killed during that battle.
