Battle of Villers-Bocage Empty Battle of Villers-Bocage

Post by woofiedog Tue Jun 23, 2015 9:18 pm

While searching for some information I came across some web sites and a video concerning the Battle of Villies-Bocage that has some maps and other information.

Michael Wittmann quote...  “the decision was a very, very difficult one. Never before had I been so impressed by the strength of the enemy as I was by those tanks rolling by; but I knew it absolutely had to be and I decided to strike out into the enemy.”

A video of the Battle of Villers Bocage, that has time line aerial maps of the unit/tank movements during the battle.

Maps of the battle, these excellent maps have individual tank/vehicle locations included.

And another web site with info/photos concerning Michael Wittmann and one other about German communication equipment, throat microphone/headphones of the tankers.

That's a very interesting investigation! Suppose, smth. will be included in the mission.

That's a very interesting investigation! wrote:

Wish there were more of the WWII battles that would have these progressive aerial battle maps. Really gives a different look at how the combat stages of a particular battle took place.

But for those of you interested, came across a 56 page book you can read online called "Tanks in the Hedgerows:The Battle for Villers-Bocage". It also has some excellent and interesting maps and photos.
