A tank is like a pressure cooker if there's something inside that exerts sufficient pressure then the lid or turret will fly off... it's elementary physics. Tanks were full of ammo and fuel 2 good reasons why they could end up decapitated.

According to the InfoResist group, the detachment consisted of 16 tanks. Seven tanks were brewed up in the first day of the offensive, four tanks were destroyed by the Ukrainian artillery strikes during the next two days, and three more tanks have gone out of operation for various other reasons.

The Americans want to provide weapons to the Ukraine but the Germans are against it. What's your opinion or the opinion in the Ukraine Lockie? It seems to me the Americans should provide funds and logistical support rather then weapons since you make them locally. What's your take?

Yes, Ukraine needs help with weapon and skilled instructors to prevent Russia aggression.

The United States welcomes the agreement reached today in Minsk by the OSCE-led Trilateral Contact Group, which was endorsed by the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and France. The agreement represents a potentially significant step toward a peaceful resolution of the conflict and the restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty consistent with the Minsk agreements from last September. We especially appreciate the tireless efforts of German Chancellor Merkel and French President Hollande to reach this new accord. We call on all parties to carry out the commitments undertaken in today’s accord and the September agreements fully and without delay. This agreement must now be followed by immediate, concrete steps to fulfill the commitments by all parties. The cease-fire must be implemented and honored. Heavy weapons must be withdrawn from the conflict zone, and Russia must end its support for the separatists and withdraw its soldiers and military equipment from eastern Ukraine. The true test of today’s accord will be in its full and unambiguous implementation, including the durable end of hostilities and the restoration of Ukrainian control over its border with Russia. The United States is particularly concerned about the escalation of fighting today, which is inconsistent with the spirit of the accord.

You didn't know that the Russians used the former Soviet anthem's music? They changed it under Yeltsin to break up with the Soviet past but they decided to go back to it may be 7 or 8 year ago. I guess the music was so well known and so popular...They just changed the lyrics.

I remember that russians had original hymn during Yeltsin president, then I lost interest to this country for long time. And only now I was surprised when I heard exactly the same music, but the words suppose other.
Also I remember that R. Reagan called USSR as Evil Empire.

I hope the agreement will bring freedom and peace to Ukraine.

I hope so, but now Ukrainian Army has a very hard battle near Debaltsevo. And peaceful citizen under shelling.

This Russian occupant Arthur Cherny boasted he would capture Kyiv and now he tried to disguise erself as local from Donetsk. I think our Government should organize column from russian occupants and moved them along central street of Kyiv.

Yes, it's not worth the paper it's signed on.

Nothing short of economic collapse will really push Putin to back down now. However even if he were to do that the monster he has , if not created certainly fostered, now has a life of its own and may not agree to any treaty between Russia and the Ukraine.

You are correct in your assessment of Putin I fear. But that monster's life blood is supplied by Russia. If Putin cut off that blood supply the monster would have no choice but to live by a treaty. Putin's aim, and I believe he has achieved it, is to create another enclave like the ones in Moldova and Georgia.

Short of a ratcheting escalation that may lead to a wider war, there's not much to be done about it. I only hope that it won't go back to business as usual with Russia, as it did after it's invasion of Georgia.

No matter our own problems of the day which are very small in comparison, my heart & prayer's go out to the people of Ukraine and to their suffering during this totally unnecessary war, that was brought to the very doorsteps of their homes, only because they want a self rule and a government of and by the people of Ukraine.

Heavy armor rolls in: New convoy of Russian tanks arrive by rail at border with Ukraine days after military trucks and rocket launchers were spotted nearby.







Nine tanks arrived in southern Russian town of Matveev Kurgan on Monday.
Mobile phone snaps show them arriving on the back of a freight train.
Town is just 17 miles from Ukrainian border, where battles continue.
