У розмові Зеленський згадав про Будапештський меморандум як документ, який не зміг захистити Україну, яка відмовилась від ядерної зброї, від вторгнення Росії. Відтак Зеленський сказав Трампу, що в України тепер є два варіанти – або увійти у НАТО, або створювати ядерну зброю. Президент додав, що країни НАТО сьогодні не воюють, відтак Україна обирає вступ до Північноатлантичного альянсу. Зі слів Зеленського, Трамп погодився з його аргументами.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke about his conversation with US presidential candidate Donald Trump during the press conference following the European Council meeting on Thursday, October 17. In the conversation, Zelensky mentioned the Budapest Memorandum as a document that failed to protect Ukraine, which has renounced nuclear weapons, from ruSSian invasion. Therefore, Zelensky told Trump that Ukraine now has two options - either join to NATO or creating a nuclear weapons. The President added that NATO countries are not at war today, so Ukraine chooses to join the North Atlantic Alliance. According to Zelensky, Trump agreed with his arguments.

Nuclear weapon is important argument for peaceful agreement!
