T-28 in the running conditions

Suppose tracks sound could be taken for the current T-28 in STA.
It's interesting, but real medium tank T-28 wasn't designed to fight vs enemy tanks. It was unit organized only to support the infantry. First battle this tank saw during "Winter war" 1940, when Soviets tried to "liberate" Finland.

What is the purpose of the rail welded onto the turret?

AFAIK, it is recoil device.

This antenna was a very good indicator of the Commander' tank. It was  a very comfortable sign for the enemy fire, coz they knew where the Commander tank was and from the beginning concentrated fire at him.
Though, destroyed Commander tank was not a problem for the other Soviet tanks, coz radio communication was a very bad, moreover mostly all other tanks had not have even a receiver to provide at least direct communication (same was in aviation). The main and common order was - Do as I do.
But how u can do as Commander, if u don't see him and don't hear either?


T-28 was equipped with two guns:
1. KT-28 (completely unuseful against enemy tanks. They didn't have AP shells either. )
2. L-10 (which was better and had AP shells)
In STA mod T-28 presented with ekran (additional armor ~50mm) and equipped with a gun L-10.
It was a very strong tank to compare with German cans, but as we know: the battle provides people who sitting inside tank, but not tank itself.

Interesting video clip and it is good to see these early war tanks are still around and in running order.

Have to say that I really enjoy these early tanks/missions in the game, find these early tanks an excellent challenge just to survive the fighting and maybe have a few kills with by the end of a mission. LoL
