    Hello! guys!
SABOW has been re released. Anyone interested in this game here? In fact, I want to make mod for this game. I want to make the SABOW more playable vehicles. I have some 3D models. But I do not know how to put them into the SA. I can put the model input to SFK42. But I thought SA and SFK are different. I need some guidance.

I think we need guidance from Master Donken. He was  the first person who managed to put tank in the game. It was two years ago. Hope he still has his knowledge and don't mind to share it with us bom

    PS
As I know Flashburn is not sharing his knowledge with anybody. But it's OK.

Yes, yes! Master Donken, he is our greatest hope. Laughing
I found the tutorial and tools on my computer. I will begin to learn. Curiously, the latest version of the SA without them.

Here is my screenshot using the model_view.cmd command. I can't give it a texture map. Although I have created texture map, and I places them with the .GO2 file in the same folder.

OK, I see. AFAIK, M-10 will be the third vehicle for SABOW. Unfortunately, there is no 'Polygon editor' to make a map suitable for the Western/East front.

Recently I have a little progress.
    1. The cause of model no texture is texture is not in the correct format. I unpacked some files of SABOW, there are some textures. These textures can be added to my model. However, when I use Photoshop to edit these textures, they become unavailable. Even what I did not modify, just open them with Photoshop, then save. The same file size, the same name, the same DDS format(DXT5). Therefore, I think, the problem was that when I save them, did not choose the correct option. When I use Photoshop to save the image in DDS format, there will be a lot of options. How to select is the correct? I have no idea. I need some help.
    2. There is a mod, BMP1 is playable . I checked the BMP1 mod file. I found BMP1 cockpit model and the T-62 cockpit model is the same! I think this means that the cockpit will not be an obstacle. Just like SFK42.

Can someone upload picture: officer with pistol? I'd like to see how it was implemented in Blaze Steel. In SF this animation looks awful Sad

I have not noticed anyone in SABOW with a pistol, a fairly pointless weapon anyway. Even the bailed-ot tank crews in SABOW seem to carry rifles - for example, the Iranian rankers have G3s!!!

I can't agree with u. If pistol was "pointless weapon" then nobody produced it, but all officers were equipped with this weapon. If Blaze War doesn't has such weapon - it's a bug or arcade feature of the game.

Perhaps, it was made for the balance.

Here's a new teaser with a new feature "shaking pontoon".
    https://www.facebook.com/Graviteam

It looks great! I never expected that devs would pay attention to such sweety details. We may see how any parts of the pontoon submerge in the water under tank's weight (depends on the weight of the tank the submerging is different). Well, may be someones would say - come on guys, bring us multilayer and they would be wrong Smile
Suppose, new feature will be available for both game: Graviteam Tactics tanksim and not tanksim. Both games looks quite similar, but one of them doesn't has a feature "free cam", which is a true evidence that games are different. Pontoon is a bridge itself and it does that it could be destroyable. And this will be a cool epizode, coz on the river the breakable parts of pontoon will drift downstream.

    PS
    Could not help myself Smile

All officers were not equipped with pistols. In the post-WW2 British Army, the platoon commanders (Lt or 2nd Lt) carried a rifle, an SLR in my day, later an SA80. You are less conspicuous, and if you are going to carry a weapon, you might as well carry a useful one.

In WW2, it was different but even then, some carried other weapons - eg Peter White was an infantry platoon commander in 4 KOSB 1944-45 and he carried a rifle.

You may have heard of Ian Hogg, a British expert on small arms and artillery. In one of his books he tells a story by one British officer who was present when about 20 men were shot with pistols. One was a German, whom he shot himself, but who had to be finished off with a Sten Gun. The others were British troops; men who shot themselves or their comrades accidentally. His clear view was that in wartime, armies don't have enough time to give people adequate training in pistols, which by their nature are potentially much more dangerous than most longarms - to friendly forces.

OK, I confess I'm not good at British Army in WW2. But I know exactly that all officers from the Soviet Army and Wehrmacht were equipped with pistol. Some Soviet officers were equipped even with "sabre". Well, Japan officers were equipped with sword.
    Here's a picture of machine-gunner from 28 infantry Regiment, 8 Inf. Division, 1939-41 (Military equipment Wehrmacht, 2002).
    About SABOW Mgunner
As u can see he has a pistol, but he is not even an officer!
    Here's another example from 1944.
    About SABOW Mgunner2
I'd  like to note, if in the game (whatever this game is) one type of the weapon is absent - it could not be a reason that it was the same situation in reality.
I think this happened because devs just missed an important part of the battle - close-range fighting, where infantry could use: pistols, sabre, dagger, sapper shovel.
    In Steel Fury there are:
    First weapon - rifle/pistol-machine
    Second weapon - grenade
That's all. I'm sure nothing changed for the last 8 years in Achtung Star/Blaze. The status of infantry is a very poor to compare to tanks.

Here's a new DLC for Steel blaze: Basra 86.
    https://www.facebook.com/Graviteam
    About SABOW Tank
New expansion Steel Armor: Basra 86 adding a large-scale campaign in the area of operations in the flood plain of the Shatt al-Arab river during the Iran-Iraq war.
According to the rumors, there will be available two Campaigns and ONE ENTIRE mission! As we can see devs finally got decision that without missions the game will become pretty dead. Unfortunately, scripts are still unavailable for the users. For some reasons, devs don't thrust to the user's skill of scripting creating or may be they don't want users to make their personal missions or whatever.
And there will be first time implemented feature - APC doesn't scare of water! It took them 8 years to implement this! Partly, this feature was presented in Steel Fury. There is a tank T-38, which could swim, but only under user's control. Stupid AI really scared of any water presence Rolling Eyes
Same situation was in the latest versions of the game Steel blaze and now it is fixed at least for the APC.

According to the last rumors the next DLC for the Steel Blaze will be battle "Soviet vs Japan" Khalkin-Gol, 1939 and epic battle "Somali vs Ethiopia"! This setting is more preferable for devs, coz WW2 themes are not interested for some mystique reasons  Suspect
Moreover according to the devs info/statistic, Steel Blaze has more popularity than Steel Fury (Nor SF neither Fall Blau didn't bring any profit to Graviteam).
In this content popularity is a very interesting case. We know what does "bestseller", but does popularity bring the profit?
And surprise, the next year with a high probability will bring another DLC devoted to the WW2 tanks. Don't expect Panthers, Pershings or Josifs. This period will be from 1941-42 (Does it mean these times are more popular?)
Fill up er tanks with fuel, resupply the ammunition and do not forget to keep the gun clean! You must be ready for new battles and new popular thinking!
