Re: Ukraine fights against the enemy
True but the Ukrainians are truly the masters of the drones. They have been able to use them so creatively and effectively sinking more than 60% of the Russian Black Sea fleet with their sea drones and devastating Russian armour and infantry with the flying type it's unbelievable. Not everybody could have done that and that effectively with so little resources.

That's episode. In fact, the situation is heavy, especially with shells. As my opinion, many Ukrainian ppl still do believe that war will be finished soon and peace will be back, but it doesn't correspond to reality. We've losses every day, the orks outnumbers us in almost all aspects, mostly in manpower. During the battle for the town of Avdiivka orkas were lost ~1000 per day, but it didn't stop them. We had to retreat.Tanker wrote:Great video lockie. Now the ruzzian orcs ride in open topped Chinese golf carts

When you read German accounts of battles on the East front you hear similar stories. The Soviets despite horrible losses in men and material just keep coming and simply grind down the outnumbered Germans until they had to retreat. Like Ukraine against Russian despite inflicting 4 to 1 losses they would be overwhelmed. Different regimes but the same disregard for the lives of their soldiers on The Soviet-Russian side. But at least the Germans could count on their industry and logistics to supply them with ammo and even replace lost material whereas poor Ukrainians depends a lot on their Allies who are not providing enough assistance to replace Ukraine's losses Russians gaining ground.

Re: Ukraine fights against the enemy
The orcs took Avdiika mainly for two reasons. A paucity of artillery ammo for the Ukrainians and the heavy use of FAB 500 glide bombs by ruzzian aviation.
Both weaknesses can be fixed. Whether they will be fixed and fixed in time is another question.
Without the means to reliably shoot down their SU 34 and 35 planes (read F-16 and maybe Grippen) they will repeat the same heavy aerial bombing and meat wave tactic at each successive Ukrainian strong hold.

Re: Ukraine fights against the enemy
Even the F16 are not a magic solution. They are nearly 50 years old technology, modernized by with 40 to 60 airplanes the Ukrainians will get won't be enough to turn the tide. They would need to get a 2to 300 mor e modern aircrafts, F15s F18s, Grippen, Rafales, even Tornadoes.

6 !!!! Imagine! The first thing the Orcs will do is send dozens of their best fighters SU 35s to track and attack them and overwhelm them with numbers. These 6 jets won't last more than a month . If MNATO countries keep sending weapons and aid by the drop the Ukrainians will never be able to prevail. Russians will sacrifice 1 million men if they have to and will crush Ukrainians under superior numbers.
Look at the Finns in 1939-1940 and again in the summer of 1944, despite their courageous and selfless sacrifice and inflicting severe losses to the Soviet Orcs they were defeated as superior numbers eventually prevail especially when faced with the Stalin or Putin types who don't care about the lives of their people.

ruSSian orcs "liberating" Ukrainian city of Vuhledar
That's a "peaceful" suggestions from the shorty ruZZian orc

Paramedic and emergency worker killed at scene of Odesa attack by additional ruZZian orcs strike
A paramedic and a State Emergency Service employee attending to the site of a ruSSian missile strike in Odesa were killed when a second missile hit the same area.

1. Recognition by the former (hereinafter referred as f.) of defeat in the military component of the conflict. Complete and unconditional surrender b. “Ukraine” represented by the neo-Nazi clique in Kyiv. Demilitarization b. “Ukraine” and the ban on the creation of paramilitary forces on its territories in the future.
2. Recognition of the Nazi character by the international community f. the Kyiv political regime and the forced denazification of all government bodies under UN control f. "Ukraine".
3. UN statement of loss b. “Ukraine” of international legal personality and the impossibility of any of its legal successors joining military alliances without the consent of Russia.
4. Resignation of all constitutional authorities f. “Ukraine” and the immediate holding of elections to the provisional parliament of the self-governing territory f. "Ukraine".
5. Adoption by the provisional parliament of laws on the payment of all required compensation to Russia, including payments to the relatives of the dead citizens of our country and payments for harm to the health of the wounded. Establishing a procedure for compensation for property damage caused to constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
6. Official recognition by the interim parliament f. “Ukraine”, that its entire territory is the territory of the Russian Federation. Adoption of an act of reunification of territories f. "Ukraine" with Russia.
7. Self-dissolution of the provisional parliament. UN recognition of the act of reunification.
This may be the soft ruZZian formula for peace. This is a compromise position, right? I think it is precisely on this basis that we can seek a benevolent consensus with the international community, including the Anglo-Saxon world, and hold productive summits, counting on mutual understanding of our close friends - Western partners."

Maybe the clever Ukrainians will ambush dozens of their best fighters with surface to air missiles like they've done lately. ruzzian su 34 and su 35 have been suffering lately. 6, while small numbers, is better than nothing and it takes time to complete the training.
Perhaps the example of the collapse of Tsarist ruzzia following defeats and large casualties in WWI is more illustrative than Finland.
Things look dark but let's not give up hope.

Re: Ukraine fights against the enemy
I disagree Tanker, the Tsarist army which was riddled by incompetence and corruption was fighting what was arguably the best army in the World at the time, the Imperial German army, better trained, better equipped, better led and fed and highly motivated. In terms of numbers the Germans could put up as many soldiers as the Russians. The war was unpopular in Russia and that country was riddled with internal strife. The Bolsheviks did not operate in a vacuum.
The Ukrainians have less than 38 million population if you discount the 5 million who are refugees all over Europe and elsewhere. The Russians have 145 million almost 4 times as many. Every Ukrainian soldier lost is almost irreplaceable . The Russians can afford to grind down the Ukrainians despite their horrendous losses. Plus they are getting better at tracking Ukrainian resources and destroying them with drones, glided bombs, even aircrafts. The Russian air force had 3649 aircrafts in 2020. Ukraine at best has 2 to 300 air worthy aircrafts. I don't need to be von Clausewitz to see how the disparity in forces is against the Ukraine.

Re: Ukraine fights against the enemy
All valid points but I still think that the ruzzians can be forced into a stalemate a la Afghanistan. They may even be forced from Crimea if the bridge can be cut.
What is the alternative for Ukraine? Total surrender with the attendant reprisal slaughtering?
I don't think the West and Ukraine have any alternative but to keep fighting to prevent that. The small minded ruzzia supporters in the US Congress are complicit in the tragedy and actual enemies of freedom and their own county's interest.

Agree, Ukraine doesn't has any fighters by personal production. I wish that any countries will never get the same situation as Ukraine against orcs aggression. Many years ago France helped to US to get Independence. I hope France will help Ukraine as well today.Tanker wrote: 6, while small numbers, is better than nothing

Big difference between the Soviet retreat out Afghanistan and now.
1) Gorbachev was in charge. He faced the possible economic collapse of the Soviet Union which he wanted to avoid at all cost. Now Putin is in charge and he is dead set on dismembering Ukraine. Gorbachev was a reformist Putin is an imperialist.
2) Ukraine was part(occupied) of the Russian Tsarist empire and of the Soviet Union for over 300 years. Both Russians and Ukrainians see Kyiv as the cradle of their nations. Afghanistan is a country which was the object of a strategic game (The Great Game) first played between Russian empire and British empire and later between US and Soviet Union. For the Russians it's not part of their identity.
Putin was willing to sacrifice his precious oil and gas exports, trade links with the West, possibly war with NATO this is how determined he is to win. He is more like Peter the Great ( his idol) or Stalin, both ruthless depots willing to sacrifice the lives of many.
Don't fool yourselves, the French will not take the Russians on alone. Macron is super unpopular in his country and he won't risk a costly war which he can't win.
