I was reading about 5. SS Panzer division Wiking when I stumbled across the name of one of it's foreign volunteer a Finn named Lauri Törni who had the unusual distinction of serving under three different flags:
Finland in 1940-41, Germany 1941-45 and the US Army during the Vietnam war 1963-65 where he was killed. He was a most remarkable soldier by all accounts as he collected military awards from Finland, Germany and the US.Read his bio here:
