At the moment, controllable tanks are in beta state and will be added to the game in 1.105 if everything goes well.

Salut Woerghern it's been a very long time!

It looks beautiful and very interesting. I hope the developers don't have another lame War Thunder/World of Tank clone? If not then I might be interested in that game Can you give us more info?

Natürlich gute kameraden ! I assure you, right away, that it will be no question of an ersatz of "war thunder". The orientation of the developers are closer to the simulation aspect than of clay pigeon shooting. Personally, I invested in "iL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad and Battle of Moscow and I've always been a big fan of the license since the first licensed release in 2001. Thereafter I played the series "Theatre of War" developped together with "1C Company Games" and "cdv Software Entertainment USA". I have always greatly appreciated the quality and realism of their products. Then, came "777 Studios" with their flagship product "Rise of Flight" Logically, an association between the two companies was established to finally get out the excellence in the second world war simulation: "iL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad" that takes place during the German offensive on the Russian front in late 1942. Today, the development of the game continues, notably with the addition of a massive fall and summer map. Of course, the addition of aircraft, such as the bf 109-E7, the P-40 E1, the Pe-2, the MC.202 Macchi, the I-16 Type 24 that complete the picture and come to join the eight already flyable aircrafts, bringing the total of 18 flyables aircrafts. The rest coming with bf-110 and some others... We coul just say that the adventure jsut begin...Ok, now let me to share you a link, if you permit me, to appreciate the words of developers themselves that will explain you, better than me, their overall objective for il-2 license. Check the #115 post; DD113 (Developper Diary 113).

Have a good read and let we talk about it a little bit later if you're ok Wink

Merci Kamerad! However flight sims aren't my thing. I own IL2 and I have played it may be 10 times in 7 years. Flying just doesn't turn me on! But the tank part does tremendously...

Est-ce que tu sais si la partie blindés sera indépendante de la partie aérienne ou au contraire en sera une partie intégrale?

Listen, I just read that. What do you think about it:

"Part 3. What we want to achieve and the future possibilities
You may have noticed that modeled tank systems are reasonably realistic, however not everything has been created yet (although there are some things not to be found in other recent projects about tanks). This can be explained by what we want from adding the tanks to our sim.
We made basic functionality to show potential possibilities of controllable tanks in our project and understand the player reaction to them. Mainly, would you like them? We demonstrate our approach (realism over balance, cooperative play in one vehicle, detailed systems modeling) in some kind of a Kickstarter-esque manner. If the existing community and new players would like the new toys, we'll assign more resources to improve and expand on the basis we have now, adding new systems, more detailed damage modeling, other features, and new vehicles."

(post #115 in the link above)

But, to respond to your question this will an integrated part of il-2 BOS/BOM, of course.

Which is fine. I can buy the whole game as long as I can just play the land-armour part I am cool with it.

We may only have driver/gunner view.  Not sure if commander view will be available.
It means, u can't play as Commander, which is strange.

IL-2 game engine has no "commanding mode", coz aircraft crews don't need such function.
So playing as the tank commander, you would be the observer only.

That is a difference between tank and air sim. In fact, Commander in tank is important person, i.e. for Pz.III.
That's why Pz.III is better than T-34/76 because Pz.III has a better observing.
Here's a sample of the new video.

It looks good, but it's the same style like: WoT, WT.
IL2 has no dif. There are only two places available and tank looks in the control view as aircraft. This is the same basis. I didn't see any "sight devices". Gunsight reticle looks like a separate object, but I don't believe it is telescopic device. Also have a look on T-34 blowing up - this is ridiculous. This moment T-34 was OK, next moment T-34 looks bad/burnt. And of course, there is no infantry. It's not a tank sim.
There is only one positive moment for me: after shot u can't see reticle during a while, because of the smoke.

I like the fact that at least they made the effort to replicate the Panzer III 's original reticle not like WoT or WT where all tanks simply have a crosshair reticle.... The problems with all these Russians game making outfits is that it's a race to create the next WW2 arcade tank sensation. No attention  to realism or accuracy. They just make it casual to sell as fast as possible.

IMO, in case of IL-2 Sturmovik (and other flight sims), the most sensible implementation of ground forces would be AA tanks, like Wirbelwind, Ostwind, AA Crusader, M16 and others.
BTW, in SF AAA completely ignore enemy aircrafts. It is possible to fix that?

As so far, playable tanks were rather a candy for market testing purposes.

Now the devs have decided to push the subject forward !

    il2 Sturmovik Stalingrad Il-2_k11

    il2 Sturmovik Stalingrad Il-2_t11

    Details here:

    https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/32254-announcing-battle-bodenplatte-flying-circus-tank-crew-and-mo/?p=532738

    Citated from above:

Tank Crew – Clash at Prokhorovka

Tank Crew will be expanding upon our initial adventure into tank combat by including ten new tanks and armored vehicles and improving our two existing tanks. Tank Crew will create a ground combat component that can be integrated into single-player content and multiplayer servers. Our tanks will be multi-crew in multiplayer which most other leading tank games are not capable of. Our playable tanks will also be modeled both inside and out with realism in mind and improved damage modelling. The map will feature the southern portion of the Battle of Kursk with the village of Prokhorovka and town of Belgorod included. The map will also be built somewhat differently giving tank players a better ground environment then our current large maps. Further details about Tank Crew will be released as development ramps up.

Planned to be Included in Tank Crew – Clash at Prokhorovka

Playable Tanks and Content (Tentative List):

    - T-34-76 STZ

    - KV-1s

    - M4A2

    - SU-122

    - SU-152

    - ZIS-5 + 72K

    - PzKpfw III Ausf.L

    - PzKpfw IV Ausf.G

    - PzKpfw V Ausf.D

    - PzKpfw VI Ausf.H1

    - Sd. Kfz. 184

    - Sd. Kfz. 10 + Flak38

    - Prokhorovka - Belgorod Map {100x100 km Approx.)

Pre-Orders for Tank Crew will be available sometime first half of 2018.

    Great news!
Especially the mention possible by working with talented professional studios whom we have partnered with in the past few months.
    Do the mean Graviteam?
Just wonder who will play for T-34/76 if the "Tiger" on the battlefield? There should be a balance or whatever, ie:
    1xTiger vs 20xT-34/76
