Military parade
7 November in Moscow took place military parade. It was tradition in the former USSR had parade, coz in 1917 bolsheviks took power in their hands and later killed the king Nicolay II.

Re: Military parade
And his whole family. Are they really still parading around portraits of Josef Stalin? Ah, the good old days. Now there was a dictator who knew how to dictate, not like these wimps in the Kremlin today.

Re: Military parade
Wanted to share this "joke" that I read earlier today in the news, well at least I believe it is someones joke for the day.
MOSCOW — President Vladimir Putin says Russia's military modernization program doesn't mean that the nation intends to engage in an arms race.

Just makes me want to run out and lay down some hard cold cash and buy the Brooklyn Bridge.
What can you say... didn't know it before, but now know he is just a people loving Peacenik!

Re: Military parade
It's also jestful how such an accusation can come from the media of a country which still has the largest military budget and accounts for approximately 40% of global arms spending.

Re: Military parade
That's the grand imperial catchphrase that's been missing in this thread all along - nothing quite like it to bring back that Cold War spirit.

Re: Military parade
kapulA... That's the grand imperial catchphrase that's been missing in this thread all along - nothing quite like it to bring back that Cold War spirit.
I can see where a country is being hammered in on all sides by the Grand Imperial forces. Guess while certain people are saying that there are no plans for WWIII, they are certainly saying that there are no hungry people either.
Quote... This week a group of girls in T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan "Eat Russian" descended on a Moscow supermarket and began scouring the shelves for sanctioned foreign goods. Their raid eventually unearthed some illicit French cheese and bags of German nuts.
"This is prohibited!" the food patriots declared to a somewhat stunned-looking store manager, before slapping "sanctioned" stickers on the items, complete with a roaring Russian bear.

As far as our country being "Grand Imperial"... we have never had a King or Queen presiding over us. That was sorted out after the Revolutionary War and we have since voted for our president in office. Whether good or bad.

I agree wholeheartedly with these girls; Russia can certainly produce great quantities of their own food. Just look at the big cheese in the Kremlin and all the nuts in the Duma!

"We will come to the Victory of Communism!"
When Communism will come then everybody may take and eat any food, which they will find in the shop!

The sovereign or head of state is hardly what I had in mind when I typed that - policies may be described with those epithets as well.
But I'm not sure if this is the place to get into such discussions, this being a fun-centered hobby forum and all.

I agree with this statement and normally I am not regularly a political minded person.
But lately Mr. Putin himself has done nothing but place his face and his lies in the newspapers and TV screens around the world with his drama spectacles.
Let's face it, there are no imaginary "Grand Imperial forces" trying to close in on Russian's borders or to unseat Mr. Putin himself. It is so easy the distort the truth for him and cover the misery his polices that are being forced upon the people of his own country and others such as the Ukraine and more.
But as you say that this is a fun-centered hobby forum, I will refrain myself from future post.

Re: Military parade
I'd like to note that it's impossible talking all the time abt. SF
That's why new topic "Common discussion" was created to discuss some other question(politics, history, economics, music etc), which author think will be interesting to share with other members of our forum.

Re: Military parade
I agree a Roman definition of a forum , itself taken from the Greek concept of the agora, was a public place where citizens would gather and discuss topics of common interest and freely express their opinions without violence and repression. This is how the twin concepts of democracy and free speech evolved. WE need a separate thread where we can share and express our points of view. The gaming world is a small one but we live in a far greater one which we need to discuss as well.
