    Sounds like they are counting both gunners and tank commanders. Woll was Wittman's gunner I believe.

    Before D-Day Woll had been given his own tank and, unlike Wittmann, he survived the war and died in 1996. Woll was temporarily Wittmann's gunner at Villers Bocage, as his own Tiger was in for repair.

    I'd like to note that rumors as for ace SS-Untersturmführe Martin Schroif are very exaggerated. Though, one mission has been devoted to his activity.
