    Tank Crew will be expanding upon our initial adventure into tank combat by including ten new tanks and armored vehicles and improving our two existing tanks. Tank Crew will create a ground combat component that can be integrated into single-player content and multiplayer servers. Our tanks will be multi-crew in multiplayer which most other leading tank games are not capable of. Our playable tanks will also be modeled both inside and out with realism in mind and improved damage modelling. The map will feature the southern portion of the Battle of Kursk with the village of Prokhorovka and town of Belgorod included. The map will also be built somewhat differently giving tank players a better ground environment then our current large maps. Further details about Tank Crew will be released as development ramps up.

    I hope the release will be soon!
    I think the main idea of the new game/addon is moving together as one crew!
    I think it's time to compile the working crew!  happy
    I may try myself as a gunner, will73 as a driver and  Txema as a commander! Very Happy
    Of course our crew still need a very strong loader to load shell as faster as possible! Mr. Frinik what do ya think?  bounce
    Of course, we may change the seats, coz I like to try myself at any places!
    Though, may be there will be some difficulties with a language understanding between crewmembers Smile

    Yeap. No infantry - no true tanksim. It goes without saying. BUT we've a choice to take a seat in the VERY detailed cockpit of the KV-1 and Tiger I! I think it worth to try it out! Moreover, we may play together as ONE CREW! AFAIK, there are three places available: driver, gunner, commander.

    IL2 is a very moddable game. It's been modded extensively in the past and I am sure some fans will take the matter in their hands and create infantry and other goodies. No worries!

    Personally in single player mode I would prefer just tanks versus tanks rather than including dumb, brain-dead infantry AI just like in TvsT or even Steel Fury...

    The tank ai is not any smarter than the infantry and least they are a target rich environment for the mg. They'll knock out a tank if you get to close.

    Well, it's not a first person game like Steel Fury. It is a battalion/company level game called Command Ops 2

    You can play the role of a battalion commander and issue orders to your subordinate AI company commanders and rely on them to competently carry them out. They are not perfect but then again neither are human commanders. The opfor ai is also good and will provide surprises as it reacts to your actions and changing conditions.

    The base game is free to download and play on Steam and perhaps from Lock n' Load (publisher) and it comes with several scenarios.

    It's true, as you say, that ai in games like SF and ARMA is pretty stupid.

    Oh yeah especially Arma. The AI either can see you through walls and trees and never misses a shot or is super dumb. There's no middle ground. I'll try that free game you mention.

    I enjoy co-op mission with other people against the ai in Arma but real fun is to have humans on both sides, especially in some of the WW2 mods of Arma.
