    This photo illustrates what were the fatal consequences for the Soviet offensive in 1942. I read there were ~0.5 mln. of the Soviet soldiers captured.
    Also I've read book "The spy who treason" by Boris Witman. It's a very sad story abt. what happened in 1942 near Kharkiv.
