Щодо японського танку, то існує думка, що це може бути Type 97 Te-ke.

This is excellent movie!
Have to disagree somewhat. The Germans are shown as hopelessly inept in this movie.
1. For example, the scene where they go to rescue the infantry in the field, the Germans are hiding in the trees with three PAK 40's and repeatedly miss the American tanks from near pointblank range!
2. Then, the scene where they go up against a single Tiger I (who is without any infantry or other tank support, AND traveling alone) is ridiculous. Yes, the Americans lose several tanks, but the scene just shows the supposed ineptness of the Tiger commander is letting himself be flanked.
3. And the worst part of the movie is the ending, where 100+ SS infantrymen with Panzerfausts (and, I believe, Panzerschrecks?) cannot take out one crippled Sherman??? And, they take forever to take out the commander, Brad Pitt, who is outside the tank mowing them down with his .50 mg??? Come on, it's completely skewed to favor the American side.
Very disappointing movie..., but at least they got many things right, especially using real period tanks!

Yes, that was unrealistic, but it is movie, fiction. We've a story of the US tank crew in April 1945.KurtTank wrote:

If u paid attention US tanks were also without infantry guard. Why?2. The situation with a GER tank is more or less clear. They were abt. to finish and even one tank was a good thing on the battlefield. German was out of fuel.
BTW
German Commander made a wise descision. When his place was covered with a smoke shells, he moved to meet with the enemy. it's a good descision.
Because:
1. if he stayed in smoke he would not see the enemy
2. if he retreated he would not see the enemy maneuvres
Yes, that was exegeration. But the battle scene itself made in a very good manner! Director wanted to show the fight between one tank and SS hordes where the winner became the US tank.3. And the worst part of the movie is the ending
As my point this movie is excellent!

Re: Tank pictures
Kurt, remember this is war as seen by Hollywood. It means:
1) Americans cannot lose against anybody opposing them.
2) Americans always hold the moral high ground and the others are just evil canon-fodder
3) the enemies are just there to enhance the American hero who is usually( as Brad Pitt) a well known, over-hyped overrated and over paid figure who will sell millions of tickets.
That being said I have high respect for the US soldiers fighting abilities in real life. The Germans also did and those who did not( many arrogant high ranking Nazis , Japanese and Communists) paid a very high price for their disdain.
Re Fury, I only saw excerpts of it and to me it was enough not to waste my time watching it. Another Hollywood exercise in propaganda. But to everyone their taste! You want a good one in my opinion based on real events? Watch ' When the Trumpets Fade ' an excellent 1998 American film about the bloody Huertgen Forest battle. Solid acting, action , gritty and brutal.

Good points, Lockie! Still didn't like it, though! The character development of the tank crew was good, though, showing the gritty determination to finish the war so they could go home. That was the best part of the movie, imho.

Agreed! Amazing that Brad Pitt's character was killed in the end, reminiscent of John Wayne in "Sands of Iwo Jima".

Re: Tank pictures
Was checking out some Pz III winter camouflage photos and came across these two photos. Notice that the real color photo of this Pz III is the same as the lead Pz III in the lower photo. ( Note... More white wash has been applied to the lower hull section in the two photos, but the turret has the same paint.)

The photos were the basis for my Pz III winter skin:

Yes, it looks like Sherman M4A3-76, but it is not. My bet it's M4A2 with 76 mm gun and doubled diesel engine GMC with 350-400 hp.Kozak76 wrote:Танк схожий на Шерман з фільму FURY.
